Understanding how custom fields work

What are custom fields used for?

Custom fields is a tool in PUBLITRAC that allows you to create fields that are not included in those provided by the platform. That way, all the needed information on your leads,
which may vary from a lead to another, is made available to you (for example, a shoe store owner might want to create a custom field with the shoe size as its value, since that
is not a field provided by the platform itself.)

Furthermore, each custom field will be added to the detail of your lead, allowing you to segment your leads based on an information that is unique to your company.

How to properly use custom fields

Before creating a custom field, it is important to assess whether this field truly qualifies your lead and will be useful for the creation of segments in future automated email campaigns.
If not, this information will needlessly clutter your account and slow down your requests. Moreover, if you try to create a filtered list based on several custom fields, there is a chance your
browser will not complete the request due to a lengthy execution time. It is therefore recommended to use only one or two custom fields at once. Please also take note that if you create
custom fields for a unique campaign or event, it is important to clean up your account and delete those fields once they are no longer relevant.
