TIPS

  • The Email Performance report allows you to see hourly statistics according to the selected date range. This is very useful to determine the best time for the opening of your emails and to adapt your mailing times to those best moments.

  •   Emails opened versus viewed emails

An email is considered as opened when the recipient has downloaded the images. If the recipient does not download the images, the email will not be considered as having been opened, even if it has been viewed. An email opened rate is difficult to calculate with precision because it is calculated from the download of the images into the recipient’s Inbox. Similarly, a text email cannot be followed since it contains no images. This problem stems from email providers, including Microsoft Outlook, which disable the default download of images, which requires the recipient to click download images to see the email in its integrity.

  • Factors affecting the calculation of the rate of opened emails

Sometimes the lead has not downloaded the images, but has clicked on a link or did a copy and paste of the URL link of the email text in his Web browser. In this case, the activity report from the  Details lead page will show a click in the email, which will confirm that the lead did open the email even if the system could not measure this opening.

If the images have not been downloaded, the activity report from the Details lead page will not indicate the opening of the email, even if there is a possibility that this lead has opened and read the email.

If the recipient receives the text version of the email, the opening will not be calculated. We recommend to measure the performance of your email campaign by the calculation of clicks, which is also available in the reports provided. This number will present a more realistic indication of the effectiveness of your campaign and will also give you a preview of a list of the leads who responded to your message.

Some email clients block images by default. It will always be possible for the recipient to open the email, read and even click on a link without downloading the images. Thus, this email will not be considered as opened.

If your email client settings are adjusted so that the images are downloaded automatically to your Inbox, and you use a preview pane to read emails, this email will be deemed to be opened even if the email was viewed in a short way and that the content has not necessarily been read.
